Community Guidelines

Our guidelines help keep StandUp.net a welcoming place for comedians and comedy fans.

Content Rules

  • Post original content

Share your own comedy material. Don't upload someone else's videos, jokes, or performances without their permission.

  • Keep it comedy-focused

StandUp.net is a platform for comedy. Events, videos, and jokes should be related to stand-up comedy, improv, sketch, or other comedic art forms.

  • Provide accurate information

When creating events, make sure dates, locations, and pricing are accurate. Misleading event information harms both audiences and the comedy community.

  • No spam or self-promotion abuse

Don't flood the platform with repetitive content, excessive self-promotion, or unrelated commercial material.

  • No illegal or harmful content

Content that promotes violence, illegal activities, or targets individuals with harassment is not allowed. Comedy pushes boundaries, but there are lines that shouldn't be crossed.

  • No explicit or NSFW content without marking

If your content contains mature themes or explicit language, mark it accordingly using the content settings when posting.

Interaction Rules

  • Be respectful

Treat other comedians and fans with respect. Constructive feedback is welcome; personal attacks are not.

  • Support the community

Comedy thrives in community. Like, comment, and share content you enjoy. Attend events. Follow comedians whose work you appreciate.

  • No harassment or bullying

Don't target users with repeated negative comments, threats, or coordinated attacks. We take harassment seriously and will take action against offenders.

Reporting Content

If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it. You can report events, videos, jokes, and comments using the report button on each piece of content.

Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. We'll take appropriate action which may include removing content, issuing warnings, or suspending accounts.

Moderation Policy

We use a graduated enforcement approach:

1
First violation: Warning

For minor violations, we'll send a warning explaining what rule was broken and how to avoid it.

2
Repeat violations: Content removal

Continued violations will result in content being removed and temporary restrictions on posting.

3
Severe violations: Account suspension

Serious or repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent account suspension.
